Description
A unique tool for cleaning and lubricating Shimano cassette freehubs without needing to disassemble the bearings and pawls. To use this tool, you need to remove the freehub from the hub with a 10mm hex wrench. Once this is free, the rear seal is simply removed then the tool fits onto the back of the freehub and is secured with a knurled nut. The fragile seals in the front of the freehub are not removed with this tool so they do not need to be replaced. Whatever type of cleaner you desire (water base or oil based) can be loaded into the syringe and flushed through the bearings of the freehub. (Strong solvents such as MEK or acetone will melt the syringe!) Once that is done, compressed air can be fed through the tool to dry out the bearings and then oil or very light grease can be injected to lubricate the bearings. The tool has a 1/8" taper pipe thread to accomidate the taper of the syringe or a grease fitting with a 1/8" pipe thread. All this in less than the time it takes to take apart the freehub! Includes a syringe. Replacement syringes available on inquiryArizona state residents pay 6.35% tax.
