Description
Back in the day, this was THE fork to have. Shaun Palmer was tearing up the Dual Slalom circuit and this Answer Manitou Palmer Stroker FS Ti was his fork of choice! With a whopping 80mm of travel, he was a young buck serving notice to legends like Cully, Johnny T, Mike King and Brian Lopes.
This fork is in good overall condition with pretty good feel (for 80mm). Fork shows normal signs of wear but is fully functional. Sure, it probably could use a fresh set of seals, but what 23 year old fork wouldn't?
The aluminum steerer length is 195mm (or just a touch over 7.5" for you Americans out there). I don't know who cut the steerer originally but they did a wonky job of it, it's cut more crooked than your local politicians hair. I'd recommend re-cutting but depending on your frame, you might not have a lot of room.
There is some tire rub on the bottom side of the arch, no doubt from someone trying to run something wider than 2.1" (remember 2.1" was considered wide in '97).
You won't find one more sano on eBay.
-1 1/8" straight aluminum steerer
-both knobs are working
-star nut in top of fork
-9mm quick release
-V-brake
-for use with 26" wheels (do I really need to say this?)
